CONCRETE SCREW

CONCRETE SCREW

Concrete Screws, as the name suggests, is mainly used to fasten objects into or on concretes. Concrete Screws are usually coated with a blue, ceramic coating, which allows it to resist corrosion and rust.

However, they also come in zinc or yellow zinc plated. Pilot holes are required before the Concrete Screws are installed.

The drilling speed should be at a medium since the Concrete Screw thread will be damaged if drilled in too fast.

One should be aware that the Concrete Screw should be drilled at least 1 inch into the concrete for a secure fit.

The depth of the pilot hole is also important because when drilling the hole, dust will accumulate in the end on the hole, so one will have to drill an additional ¼ inch for the Concrete Screws to securely fit into the predrilled hole.

The most common Concrete Screw heads are Slotted Hex Washer Head and the Flat Philips Head.

When applying the Concrete Screws, it is important to calculate in the additional thickness of the object fastened on the concrete. Use the Flat Philips Head Concrete Screw if one needs a flushed finish.
